It’s a solid starting estimate based on standard geometry, but real projects have variables like uneven ground, subgrade depth, and site access that can change the final amount. We’ll always confirm exact quantities before your delivery.
Most contractors add 5 to 10% over the calculated amount to account for spillage, uneven subgrade, and minor measurement variance, which is why that option is checked by default above.
4 inches is standard for most driveways, patios, and walkways. Areas that will see heavier loads, like a driveway for larger vehicles or commercial equipment, may need 5 to 6 inches or more. We can confirm the right thickness for your specific use.
